The Pub
A country Inn with distinction set at the foot of the black mountains, its the perfect place to start and end your adventures into the surrounding countryside.
Your hosts Sheila, Alan, Matthew and Daniel, look forward to any enquiry you may have and you can expect to be received with a genuine welcome and sincere friendliness!
The pub is made up of four separate rooms…the main bar, the lounge, pool room and restaurant, so there's plenty of room to lose yourself, it's the ideal setting for any group party or event. Our lounge bar has antique leather sofas and a large log fire for those cold winter nights, so you can sit back and relax in the friendly pub atmosphere.
'Real ales' are served, along with a good selection of largers, beers, wines and spirits. Pets are most welcome by arrangement but only allowed in the main bar area. We have free Wi-Fi access for your convenience business or pleasure.
The Inn supports traditional pub games so expect to be kept entertained. Whether its playing on the Wii or playing pool, skittles or darts or one of our many board games. There's a large beer garden, with a pentanque piste for those long summer nights.
The Black Mountain Lodge
The Old Pandy Inn boasts first rate bunkhouse accommodation. The lodge is located in a converted fulling mill attached to the pub, your group or party can appreciate the unique atmosphere and ambience of the pub whilst having the privacy of your own lodge. Its been converted to accommodate large and small groups of up to 28 people in 4 room combinations.
The Lodge has full central heating to keep you warm in the winter and there is also a wood burning stove in the comfortable common room for those cosy nights in. There are showers at both ends of the building allowing for groups of opposite sexes.
There is a limited kitchen with sandwich making facilities (the pub food is amazing and cheap at that so you wont want to cook) full catering packages are available whatever the occasion. There's free Wi-fi access in the pub, a television with DVD player, video and Xbox with many games for those late night sessions.
The Restaurant
A varied menu is available lunchtimes and evenings, ranging from light snacks to a three course meal, all freshly prepared by our chef at very reasonable prices.
Our food reflects the laid back country lifestyle here in Wales simple no fuss good old pub grub. Pies, casseroles, steaks and Sunday roasts what more can you ask for!
We use fresh local produce where possible and all our meats are from our local award winning butcher. We are proud to offer an extensive lunch and dinner menu served from 12:00 pm to 3:30pm - 6:00 to 9:30 - late meals by arrangement.
The Great Outdoors
Religion played a huge part in the growth of this part of the country, as can be seen by the many churches and monasteries at Abbey Dore, Tintern Abbey and Llanthony Priory.
For the sight seeker there are unlimited places to visit from Hay-on-Wye with one of the world's largest collection of bookshops, Tintern, Chepstow, Brecon and many other ancient towns with their castles and monasteries.
For the more adventurous the area is full of places offering the latest adventure sports. We can arrange your activity for you, or put you in touch with the activity company concerned.

By Train
The nearest main line stations are at Newport or Hereford. Abergavenny is on the Newport to Hereford line and there are plenty of trains from both the above to Abergavenny Station.

By Bus
Again there are plenty of bus runs to Newport, Hereford and Abergavenny itself. The Pandy Inn is a dedicated bus stop - National Express is on 08705 808080
By Car
We are on the main A465 road between Abergavenny and Hereford. Head for the main roundabout at Abergavenny and then head for Hereford. We are just outside Abergavenny.
